Read this yesterday, as Ben-editor toiled to repair our favourite site, and was blown away. While all these poems are good, "In praise of loss" hits like a punch in the gut. It's one of those rare riffs on another poem (Elizabeth Bishop's "One Art") that's better than the original. I'm breathless.

Also fascinating synchronicity to see both our collections have a poem inspired by Hart Crane. Mine is a poem called "Always", which is a homage to his "My Grandmother's Love-letters". Hers is a firmly knotted and muscular sonnet -- brilliant.

Thanks for posting the poems Rustum. Wonderful choices and nice way for potential readers to get a taste of the poems.

Megadigital has delivered 2 sets of books this afternoon & the 2 sets will be ready on Monday. So those who have ordered will get theirs ahead of the Book Fair launch. The books are gorgeous looking, matt-laminate covers have a smooth, soft sheen. I'm a proud poetry mama!

Wow, does this mean mine comes in on Monday? *hunts for Valium* I'm not ready yet!

But Colleen, you are indeed a fabulous poetry mama. Enjoy! *off to see if I have any bubbly -- much better than valium*

There's nowhere to run, Helen. Nowhere to hide. Just give in and drink the bubbly!
